Disgaea 5: The Underground (Challenge)
You are the leader of an Underground Organization. This Organization is not known among the major Netherworlds and is a brand new upstart, but they do have a small-time reputation for being deviants, defiant of all laws and Overlords. You are greedy, selfish and take whatever you want. You are true demons to the core. Being as such you aren't well equipped, your talent is bare minimum and only a rare few connections are willing to work with you. It takes time to reach success, so it's up to you to get your team in shape and make them notice you. You don't have the notoriety to be given access to guns/armor for your employees, so you have to scavenge and take them for yourself. You do however have access to a black market items vendor to aid in your journey, but these things aren't free. You will be required to pay for these services. Because of the harsh nature of the Netherworlds, only the strong will survive. Any fallen soldiers must be left behind and replaced. You don't take pity on your lost soldiers, you move forward like a real demon. Your goal is to make a name for yourself and your target is the Infamous Void Dark with his Lost Army. Defeating Void Dark would put The Organization in the spotlight and you are willing to do whatever it takes to get there. It's not going to be easy, it's going to require a lot of time and dedication but you've never wanted anything more than the fame and fortune that comes along with taking down such a massive force. Your team is weak, but you feel you have it all figured out and know what it takes to take the Netherworlds by storm. You will be the next Overlord.
The Rules
-Who Are You? The Underground Organization is an upstart trying to fight your way out of the slums, none of the Overlords and Nobles know who you are. You don't have access to any high profile characters and because of this, those interested in your organization are weak and have to be trained. Only Incompetent Generics Are Aloud In This Challenge. (No DLC Characters, No Story Characters, No Quest Overlords, Only Characters that can be "Hired" are available and can only be hired as "Incompetent".)
-Desperate Times, Desperate Measures You are starting at the bottom of the food chain here, you don't have access to equipment/armor. It's up to you to take what you need for your missions. All Start Weapons/Equipment must be stripped and sold. You start with nothing and you have to Steal every piece of gear you want in Scenario Maps/Item World. (You are not permitted to use the Weapon/Armor vendors at all throughout the entire story. Everything you obtain for your party members must be stolen or received through Quests/Rewards.)
-Only The Strong Will Survive You don't have time or the manpower to pull dead weight. If you want to defeat Void Dark, failure isn't an option. All fallen allies must be dismissed from The Underground. If any one of your characters die throughout the course of the challenge, they are gone for good. (You have to dismiss any characters that die in battle. If you complete a map or leave the item world with dead allies, you have to remove them. If you really don't want to lose someone, you will just have to Retry and lose all of your progress.)
-You're Not Welcome Here Throughout your short history, you and your organization have done unspeakable acts on enemies and innocents alike. Your faces are plastered on the Hospital walls and you can't risk being caught, not until you clear your names by eliminating Void Dark and changing their perception of you. The Hospital is off limits. (Throughout this playthrough, you may never use the Hospital to heal/revive your team.)
-Dirty Scoundrels! Being that your savage acts, thievery and selfishness has given you and your organization a bad reputation with many of the more peaceful groups within the Netherworlds. Healers and those of The Church are unwilling to work with you. (You can not recruit any healers throughout this challenge. If you want heal you will have to find it yourself in a secret scroll and teach it to one of your mercenaries.)
-Aint Nobody Got Time For That This is war, you are on a time crunch to make it to Void Dark before anyone else. This means you and your allies must move quickly towards your goal. The Cheat Shop and Grinding to make this challenge easier is not permitted. Redoing Scenario Maps is Banned as well. After you complete them you are not allowed to do them again unless a Quest wants you to go back there. Any "Kill Quests" will be done in the Item World, you can't go back to a Scenario Map to complete those. Also, any character more than 5 levels higher than your current Scenario Map will be banned from use for that map and all maps until their level evens out. (So trying to grind out the item world to over level yourself isn't going to work. Play by the rules! The Item World will only be for you to catch up under leveled allies and get items. I suggest evening out your experience or your "main" is not going to be usable and you'll have a team full of scrubs. :P This challenge promotes the use of a team, not just one character. If your character reaches that 5 level over mark, I suggest not using them anymore until you are ready to do the Scenario Map.)
-The Unknown Organization Because of your reputation or lack there of, your group is rather small. To defeat Void Dark you will need to think and strategize outside the box. Can The Underground rise to the occasion and outsmart the supreme Overlord? Only 6 Characters can be deployed on any given map at one time. (If one of your characters dies, you will only have 5 slots at your disposal. This means if you need to bring out another character, one of the current 5 must be returned to the base panel. The 4 extra slots are off limits, pretend they don't exist.)
-The Black Market and Expeditions Your Organization's seedy past has led you into some real shit holes as you tried to work your way up. You learned of The Black Market throughout these expeditions and were given access to items and potions that will be the real backbone of your journey to take down Void Dark. Also, with your main team placed in such a high pressure position, you will need to have a backup plan. Keeping your backup units on their toes will be of utmost importance in case one of your core assassins dies in battle and needs to be replaced. Send them off to take back smaller Netherworlds from The Lost Army. The Item Shop is accessible from the start, feel free to buy all the items and stealing equipment you need. Netherworld Expeditions will be available to you as well if you choose to use them for items and training while you are away. (I feel like playing the game normally neglects most of the items in the game, this challenge will force you to use them more and change the way you play.)
-Slummin It In The Item World You are thieves and vagrants, you take what you want and you will do what it takes to gain the power and knowledge to defeat the ultimate target... Void Dark. When he goes down, that is all people will know you for. The Underground will be praised for saving the Netherworlds and all the things you did up to that point will be forgotten. The Item World is where you will spend a large chuck of time, looking for items to steal, catching up new members in levels and finding skills to help increase your effectiveness considering your limitations. (Because of the inability to recruit healers, some classes will not be available to you in this challenge. You have to work with what you've got, so finding Secret Scrolls will be a crucial part of this challenge.)
-Will You Accept The Challenge? Can you start an organization from literally nothing and battle your way to the end to challenge Void Dark? Without any equipment, Healers and Overload Skills, how far can you make it? You have to play by all of the rules with no exceptions and definitely no grinding to truly beat this challenge, are you up for it?
